We undertook this project for clients who wanted to replace their dilapidated garage, enjoy their garden space more, and make better use of some of their existing indoor space.
The answer to their needs was a side extension, creating a big garage with a new bedroom above, a rear conservatory and a patio with a formal raised fish pond.
Our extension design allowed the stairs to be moved, freeing up the existing stairwell for use as a gym and shower room with an en-suite above.
The biggest challenge during the project was excavating the foundations adjacent to a buried high voltage cable. Building the interconnecting roof between the new and existing gable roof structures also had its challenges. This was due to the reduced head room at the top of the stairwell.
Our clients were delighted with the end result, and we were asked to undertake their kitchen installation project shortly after.
